The emphasis of my surgical practice is utilizing technological advancements to achieve minimally invasive surgery. My training includes Head & Neck Oncologic Surgery. Laser Technology can be used for selected problems. Reconstruction can include a team approach using modern plating systems and free flaps, which lead to improved function and appearance. Thyroid, Parathyroid and Parotid Surgery can utilize nerve integrity monitors. Parathyroid surgery employs sestimbi localizing studies and the rapid parathyroid hormone assay. Trachael Esophogeal Puncture can be offered for speech rehabilitation after Laryngectomy. Thyroplasty, to improve vocal quality after vocal cord paralysis, is an additional break-through which is practiced.
In the field of endoscopic sinus surgery, exciting advances utilized in my practice including video monitoring equipment, microsurgical debriders, and Image Guided Surgery, using an intra-operative real time Cat Scan, which monitors the placement of micro-surgical instrumentation.
In micro surgery of the ear, I use high-powered microscopy and otologic drills, less than 1 mm. in size, to obtain greater precision. Nerve integrity monitors add an additional barrier of safety to the facial nerve.
In Pediatric Otolaryngology, the use of lasers and Pediatric endoscopic equipment enhances my evaluation and treatment of airway problems.
I continually update myself in the latest surgical techniques in cosmetic surgery of the nose and of the ear. Local flaps help improve cosmesis after facial skin cancer excision.
